个人简介Henry K.K. Wong got his MSc from ENTPE-INSA (France) in 1984 before joining Simecsol (French Geotechnical Consultant) as geotechnical engineer and became branch office director in Singapore in 1988. He took part in many civil engineering projects some of a large scale (Singapore Central Expressway, Taipei Automatic Railway, French National Railway and Stations...). After obtaining his PhD in 1994 on the thermal-mechanical behaviour of underground nuclear waste repositories, he joined CNRS as researcher and worked in LGCB/LTDS-ENTPE since 1995 and was promoted to Research Professor since 2002. His current research activities concern the multiphysics behaviour of geo-materials and geo-structures: unsaturated and quasi-saturated soils and soft rocks; tunnels and underground storage structures (nuclear wastes, CO2, ...), rammed earth constructions.

内容简介 :The behaviour of quasi-saturated soils is an important factor to be considered in the design of cuttings and embankments, in which earthen materials are compacted at the optimum proctor water content. Under this condition, the in-pore gaseous phase (air + water vapour) takes the form of air pockets embedded within the liquid phase, which significantly affects the overall behaviour of the soil. The assessment of highly saturated soils thus requires a precise understanding of the physical-mechanical couplings between the entrapped air pockets, the in-pore liquid water and the solid skeleton. A fully coupled poro-elastic-plastic model that accounts fully for the different kinematics and the mechanical behaviours of the phases in their interactions with each other (e.g., liquid water, dissolved air, gaseous air and solid skeleton) has recently been developed by a research team in LTDS of ENTPE (French National School of State Public Works). The development of this model is based on a set of carefully selected assumptions following a detailed bibliographic study. The model developed is implemented in an in-house FEM code HYDROMECH and is subsequently used to simulate oedometric tests following different loading paths. The behaviour, which shows a continuous transition from unsaturated to saturated, is logical and consistent with available experimental data.
